In A Holidaze

Okay, I have to admit this was pretty adorable. I can be a bit of a grinch when it comes to the idea of romance novels but when they’re well-written, I am happy to give credit where credit’s due.

Likes:

  • gives you alllll the warm & fuzzies

  • lots of giggles

  • delivers a modest spice level

  • not entirely predictable

Dislikes:

  • This isn’t exclusive to this romcom but this made me feel like such a spinster! Why do so many romcoms exclusively star twenty-year old protagonists??

  • I don’t enjoy storylines where the protagonist feels like a failure because they’ve had to move back with their parents …mainly because that’s my life at the moment, but come on, does that really make you a complete failure? Mix it up, people!

  • The romantic plot was so rushed. Not a fan.

I find it difficult to rate romcoms. I know I have to go into it with the knowledge that it will be pretty cheesy and probably predictable but that’s the genre, right? I think this was an excellent book for what it was written to be- a cozy, holiday romantic comedy.

I had intended to follow this with The Twelve Dates of Christmas but all this Hallmark Channel sweetness has me craving a nice thriller. 😂
